AutoBraille - producing embossed Braille
AutoBraille is the programme that Nota uses to print Braille - no matter whether this is books, magazines or individually ordered material. AutoBraille adds an accessible layout to the printed Braille and uses the same file as Nota's e-books. This makes the production of printed Braille faster and easier.
A larger selection of embossed Braille
It also means that a much larger array of Nota's books and magazines can now be embossed. The time spent on making the file ready for embossing is often a bit longer, however, as Braille usually needs additional markup of the file used for e-books.
Made in Denmark
AutoBraille is developed by Nota in cooperation with "Sensus Aps" and "The Danish Centre for Visual Impairment, Children and Youth". "Sensus" has developed the underlying programme that transfers text into Braille ("SB4" which also is the basis of the awarded mailservice "Robobraille"). Nota has developed the layout module of the programme: Handling of volumes, page numbers, table of contents, print page positioning, headings on different levels, notes, tables, sidebars etc.
AutoBraille is in an ongoing process of development with the improvement of Braille layout possibilities and accessibility as a goal.
